in atlanta, dining out

If you find yourself on I-85 about half way between Atlanta and Greenville on a weekend, there is quite the interesting shopping opportunity and food court at the Pendergrass Flea Market. The flea market is part shopping mall, part yard sale, with a dash of state fair, and they happen to have a thriving food court, where hundreds of people were eating the various Mexican, Colombia, and El Salvadorian offerings.

 was tasty.

As were these tortas, which indeed came with french fries, along with a raffle ticket for a kids dirt bike (staff was confused as to why I did not want it).

Taquerias and grilled meats abound.

Weekend speciality stews like menudo and beef stew were popular, as were shrimp and ceviche served in tall margarita glasses.

You may have to fight crowds, and while not worth a one hour trip from intown with Buford Highway so close, it’s a fun pit stop with the family on a weekend afternoon. I also saw a store selling original Nintento systems and games, as well as power gloves, so that could merit further review. .

That’s right, that’s Jenny Lewis and Fred Savage in the Wizard. Drops mic, blog post out.
