Ginya Izakaya

October 8, 2015

Ginya Izakaya, sister restaurant to Doraville’s Shoya Izakaya is now open on the Westside (Berkeley Heights), in the old Cardamom Hill location. The restaurant is smaller than Shoya, but the menu is not. It’s the same expansive selection of ramen, sushi, rice bowls, kushiyaki (skewers, basically yakitori but yakitori implies chicken, kushiyaki is more expansive), […]

Qing Mu

January 26, 2015

Qing Mu, the latest “concept” from Aoki Group just opened in the new Buckhead development, next door to their sushi restaurant, Doraku, which has locations in Miami and Hawaii. The word doraku roughly translates to “trendy tourist spot”. But seriously (will be here all week) Doraku looks decent enough and I guess that’s what I’d say about Qing Mu. The […]

TON TON Ramen @ Octane

February 5, 2014

Most of Atlanta must already know about TON TON, the winter pop-up by Guy Wong of Miso Izakaya at Octane Grant Park, because the last few weeks, it appears most of Atlanta has been visiting for the weekly Sunday evening event. I planned on attending the first evening, until I saw social media reports of […]

on vacation

May 21, 2013

I’ve been out of town, on a long planned vacation to Japan. I have been blown away. Here are a few photos as I probably won’t be posting until I get back next week. But for now, let me just say Japan knows what’s up when it comes to eating and drinking.
